Neuron structure dendrite: detects chemical signal from neighboring neuron cell body (soma); collects and integrates info. Terminal buttons: bulbous end of an axon. August 30, 2016 ons and potassium ions: contribute to a neuron"s resting membrane potential. Received by receptors on the postsynaptic neurons" dendrites.
