Government is usually short term compared to a regime: government shift from obama to trump, regime being a democracy since 1776. Why does state strength matter: state strength matters because it can causes many different events based on its strength, war the weaker the state, the more susceptible to war you are, may lose land as a result. Internal conflict the weaker the state, the more susceptible to internal conflict you are: weak economy may not have the resources to provide for its citizens, can cause famine, instability, and violence. Pakistan: what are the problems facing pakistan, agricultural based economy filled with bribes and state rule, wars with india over the territory of kashmir, ethnic violence and islamic extremists, demographic explosion leading to lack of resources. Initially run over military rule: no peaceful transition of power which leads to violence and conflict.
