Many commoners like this system better bc they don"t have to go through nobility. Divine right of kings > each monarch was selected by god to rule a country. Bc his power came from god, people were obliged to obey the monarch in exchange for the monarch ruling justly. Monarch used the church and books to influence others kings hired sculptors / artists / playwrights to make his image appear better / more powerful than reality (sculptures, paintings, plays, to make them look stronger, legitimate)
