Building 1: tallest in shinjuku area at the time; now the whole area is like a forest of tall skyscrapers that this doesn"t stand out as much (cid:12254) Now shinjuku: cultural, economic, political center; became so within just. Tange used to be critical of the western ascension, sky-bound model; now he"s ne with it (but he kept insisting that his model was after computer chips) Trying to make every individual feel like it"s their town (cid:12254) But with all the high taxes, it is after all a town for the high-class individuals: so suzuki"s brought a lot of criticism.
