Overview: society and the environment, physical systems of earth, flow of energy (between herbovers, carnivores, etc, flow of matter, biomes (terrestrial (precipitation, temperature) and marine--- examples for all of them) Island (insular) biogeography (how do they get initial primary settlers, do they last?) Serves as a refuge for bird species (higher bird populations than surrounding natural environments) Depending on the context, you will see both higher and lower: succession populations. How do these populations persist/ come back from these disturbances: conservation. Fires, winds, storms, droughts, floods: biological agents of disturbance.
