Used an inattentional blindness paradigm experiment allowed free eye movement rather than fixed eye movement in their study. 4 black and 4 white shapes moved in random paths on computer screen. Asked to write down if they noticed a specific stimuli in question once trials completed. Used raven"s advanced progreessive matrices to measure gf. 4 choice reaction time test to measure processing speed. 1st study to examine if individual differences in gf and processing speed predicted inattentional blindness. Their results support their hypothesis, to an extent. Individual differences in gf predicted rates of inattentional blindness. Processing speed was not a predictor of inattentional blindness. Supports the idea that executive attention control processes may underlie individual differences in predicted inattentional blindness. Post formal thinkers possess an understanding of the relative, non absolute nature of knowledge. Accept contradiction as a basic aspect of reality. Solve problems by continuously creating new principles based on changing circumstance.
