Assimilation vs. acculturation article: how is this article similar to the video/reading, assimilation from the video because everything was taken, acculturation similar to article because compromises were made, generational ramifications. If parents had bad feelings, then children may not want to continue in school system: how has assimilation or acculturation been seen in neighborhoods, prom different types of ties depending on the year. If good education diminishes crime, then why not just educate everyone: no real answer or solution to this yet. Plessy v. ferguson: 13th and 14th amendments were violated from the constitution, determined that separate but equal was legal and enforceable (constitutional, but black nurses were allowed in white coaches, court voted 7 to 1. Brown v. board of education: father had to walk 6 blocks to take daughter to bus stop when white school was 7 blocks away.
