Group of psychiatric diagnoses characterized by disturbances in physical, emotional, and behavioral response patterns. Range from extreme elation and agitation to extreme depression and even potential for suicide. Characterized by a change in several aspects of a person"s life and emotional state consistently throughout at least 14 days. Mood described as down, sad, or feeling blah. Clients with bipolar mood disorder also experience a depressed mood. Chronic depression for majority of most days for at least 2 years. No more than 2 months can be described as symptom free. Depressive disorder in relation to seasons - winter months. Buproprion extended release - may prevent major depressive episode with people with. Do not exhibit severe symptoms that would qualify for more disorder or major depressive disorder moody temperamental unpredictable. Group of mood disorders that include manic episodes, hypomanic episodes, mixed episodes, depressed, episodes, cyclothymic disorder. Only clients with bipolar disorder experience elevated mood symptoms seen in mania and hypomania.
