National constitutional convention (philadelphia, pa may september 1787: 55 people total but 30 stay the entire time these people end up being the founding fathers because they drafted the constitution which is the current standing government. Avg. age 44 (ben is 81: convention is closed to the public so they do not have any distractions with the people, each delegation of the states get one votes. This is when rhode island shows up. Only majority is needed to make a decision. Virginia delegation comes the most prepared = most control. #2 leader james madison because he has the plan: benjamin franklin gets everyone to get it together and actually make decisions. The people who have the power have to decide to give some up = compromise = real leadership.
