Income benefits - usually in terms of a % of lost wages (ie. 66 %) Four classes of disability: permanent total (long term, total disability) Temporary partial (short term, partial disability: permanent partial (long term, partial disability) How employers can comply with the law: purchase wc insurance policy from private insurer, self-insurance in some cases, purchase from state fund or federal agency. Issues: many suspicious claims, occupational disease (ie. stress) long latency period & difficult to prove cause, medical costs are very high, many ees still sue.
