Machiavelli would argue that the assertion made by person a is true but to an extent. Machiavelli would argue that the most important concern as human beings is to who they should look up to as a prince or ruler. He then describes that a ruler should be feared rather than loved. Machiavelli states but since it is difficult to be both together, it is much safer to be feared than to be loved, when one of the two must be lacking (machiavelli, 58). With this statement it suggests that instead of focusing being citizens of the world, princes should focus on being rulers that are feared. Machiavelli would disagree with the assertion that we need to be citizens of the world because it creates complications between nations. This statement means that when people come together to attempt to become a unit it causes difficulties.
