Supreme court justices used stare decisis to keep their personal opinions and beliefs of a woman"s right to abort from senators. Justice scalia and thomas both stress the importance of being an impartial judge and removing one"s personal morals and beliefs when determining a case. Judge thomas uses a simile to make his point. Judge thomas is quoted saying his mind s as blank as a newborn swaddle in judicial robes in reference to his prejudgments on a case. I believe that justice thomas as well as every justice has an opinion on the out come of. Roe v. wade as well as every court ruling they have seen. Justice alito"s comments on the role of a lawyer versus that of a judge made it clear that a lawyer"s role is to take a stance on case and argue in favor and defend that stance.
