The epic of gilgamesh is a poem written in the sumerian language. Sumerian language was used to converse in mesopotamia. It is one of the world"s oldest writing systems. The epic of gilgames and inanna"s journey to the underworld are considered the two best literature pieces of sumerian language till date. The sumerian society were also mathematical genius as they were the first to divide the circle in 360, and the hours into sixty. They were the first one to make bronze and made axe spears, they also created ornaments from copper, silver and gold. Sumerians also invented the first vehicles as it is depicted on. Gilgamesh was the son of king-priest lugulbanda who was the king of the city uruk, which is an ancient city of sumer where sumerian people lived.
