Joseph smith: from palmyra, new york, claimed that god, jesus, and certain angels appeared to him in the 1820"s, claimed to have over 100 revelaions from god. Led him to inscribed tablets/plates-he transcribed and published them in the 1830"s. Smith views the plates and tells people what they say in order for them to transcribe. Ater about 100 pages, a woman read the book and was horriied. Smith and his men began transcribing again and the woman quesioned why the interpretaion was diferent. 1830-book of mormon was completed: irst indigenous north american scripture-in order to make north america the promised land just like canaan, taken to court and accused with disorderly conduct. Claimed supernatural power and could ind treasure through a looking glass . Was acquited because the accuser refused to tesify.
