The study of how language changes due to a person"s socioeconomic status, region, background, gender, age etc. Morphology: the study of pieces of words and how they contribute to meaning. Semantics: specifics of constructing meaning (study of the meaning of words) Synonyms- semantics would analyze the different meanings of words said to be similar to one another. Pragmatics: study of how people use language for the sole purpose of communication. Psycholinguistics: study of mental aspects of language and speech. Computational linguistics: ways in which computers communicate through the understanding of human language. Noam chomsky- theory of syntax for english language . Easy to understand/correct student"s dialects (structures of language) and any mistakes they may have translating their language into english format. Language learning is a form of learning that adults use in order to learn a new language. Language learning is a more complicated form of learning compared to language acquisition, the ways in which children learn languages.
