Document Summary

Reliability- consistency/stability of measure (are the results consistent and stable) Ex: iq test is reliable if it always yields same score for test-taker. Test-retest- compares performance at one point in time to another point in time. Parallel form- compares one form of measure to another form of same measure. Internal- compares test items to other test items. Correlation coefficient -for reliability reflects extent of consistency between 2 scores. We want reliability coefficients to be . 8 or higher. Want positive correlations bc number is closer to 1. Measure same participants at 2 points in time. Rule of thumb: 6 weeks between administrations. Compare score from 1st administration to score from 2nd administration. Ex: the parc test has many different forms. If test a is given to a school and school does well but test b given to different school and they fail. Could be due to poor education or because the different forms of the test aren"t reliable.
