The term comparative study means comparing political institutions and behaviors from state to state and community to community in order to identify and explain similarities and differences. The benefit of comparatively studying states and communities allows one to understand the who, what, when, where, and why. By comparing the states and communities one can begin to fully understand and will be able to explain the many different aspects of political science. State governments ultimately have the decision about the policies and why they are put into place. Economic development: population growth, income, and education. Regional political subcultures: social, economic, ethnic heritage, immigration, and migration factors. Throughout the years, the overall population of the u. s has continued to rapidly increase. However, even there that was a rapid increase in the population throughout the u. s, many of the states grew unevenly and expanded their populations more than other states.
