Francisco de casta eda is ordered to take cannon. Andrew ponton hid the cannon and told military he had no authority to give it up, and sent out a call for help. October 2nd: john moore and 160 texans crossed the river and attacked the mexican troops. Anglos george collinsworth and ben milam force mexicans to give up weapons. Samuel mccullough wounded and killed (1st texan casualty) Texans try to cut supply line to san antonio. Ben milam convinces him to take san antonio. Peace faction led by branch t. archer and austin. Austin goes to u. s. to try and raise funds. U. s. thinks it"s a good idea to invade matamoros. Sam houston thinks it"s insane to invade matamoros and gives up command.
