Plato: he wants to prove that socrates is a philosopher (truth) and not a o sophist (probability) In the dialogue, plato is hurt and angry because sophists killed. Socrates (with hemlock), therefore we can assume that the straw man fallacy is taking place. They killed socrates because he challenged everyone he met, he was an iconoclast, he corrupted the youth, critiqued leaders, & he supported sparta: blamed sophist for the peloponnesian war and athens fall. True philosophy: only real knowledge is based on the eternal essence of things.
