Public nudity, lewdness, sex with children moved to become the central issues of morality. Not only sexual acts, but sexual desires became sinful. Knowledge of sex has become disconnected from pleasure; sexuality became the central problem of living a moral life. This allowed the church to exert enormous power over people"s lives. It enabled the church opt get people to willingly manage and maintain their own behavior. No other appetites are seen as a source of self-knowledge. Uncovers the history of the elaborate social processes. That make thinking of something as common sense possible. We assume the self is transcendent it just exists.
