Ontology: nature of reality (t)ruth versus (t)ruth *empirical data* Epistemology: how we know things, how scholars gather data. Axiology: questions what is worth knowing, what is researched. The human eye: physiological factors- sensual, expectations: expectancy violation theory, positive effects, negative effects, effects of a relationship, cognitive abilities: cognitive complexity, person centeredness, empathy, social roles, membership in culture: attitudes, beliefs, values, understandings, practices, ways of perceiving.
