It took up till the 1800s to work those one billion people. Patterns in population growth exponentially the world is adding one billion people every twelve years. The population is distributed unequally among india and china. It took a long time for humans to get to that one billion people mark. It took so long because of famine, natural disaster, and disease. With modernization, people started living closer to each other so when a disease broke out, many would be infected. Once those one billion people were reached, population growth exponentially grew. Then, a billion people were added every twelve years. Perspectives on population growth (the population bomb debate) population grow, it is going to outstrip food supply, famine and war will eventually occur.
