There has been an increased in the number of people who are classified as free . The term freedom and democracy are sometimes used interchangeably. Participatory democracy: a system of democracy in which all member of a group or community participate collectively in making major decisions. This form of democracy has limited importance in modern societies, where the mass of the population has political rights, rendering it impossible for everyone to participate actively in the making of all the decisions that affect them. Direct democracy: a form of participatory democracy that allow citizens to vote directly on laws and policies. This form of democracy is a much realistic approach to engaging citizens in decisions. Citizens can vote directly on laws and policies.
