When a group member would show any unusual acts they would do : Trepanation which is when they took a not very sharp object and put a hole in the skull. Hippocrates had an idea that there were 4 humors ( liquids ) in the body that had to be in balance. If you had too much of one you would have certain characteristics. Plato ( greek ) - believed that people who were outside typical behavior had special abilities. Hearing voices meant they can write music or oracle of delphi who could predict the future.
