Find out how variables suggested by theory were related to fear of death measures. What we don"t yet know but need to. At present, tmt seems to be most comprehensive of theories and supported by empirical research. All humans are instinctively driven toward survival & continued existence, while at the same time have knowledge of their inevitable mortality. Protect against by creating standards for meaningful life & ways of transcending death. Could be paralyzing w/o way to suppress it from awareness. Tmt is about identifying factors that individuals use to maintain their suppression of this fear.
