Damage: disrupts visual patern recogniion and disrupts conscious. Some paients with bilateral lesions to the ventral stream have no conscious experiences of seeing and yet are able to interact with objects (under visual guidance) Cause by damage to v1; people are oten unaware of the scotomas. Perceptual compleion: illing in of missing informaion; explains why people someimes don"t noice deterioraion of their vision.
