PSY 250 Lecture Notes - Lecture 15: Optic Chiasm, Electromagnetic Spectrum, Trichromacy
Document Summary
If you lesioned the right optic nerve, then you would cut information from the right eye. (blind it) If you lesioned the right lateral-geniculate-nucleus, your right eye would see the right visual field, as well as the left eye. You"re going to basically taking out the visual field from the opposite side. (in this case the left visual field. ) If you lesioned the right visual cortex, then it would be same concept. (right visual field intact, but left not. If you lesioned the optic chiasm, then you would be crossing out information coming from the nasal aspect. You would still be able to see the information coming from the temporal retina. Your left eye would see the info that isn"t crossing (its right visual field) Your right eye would see the info that isn"t crossing (its left visual field) Only perceive a small portion of the electromagnetic spectrum.
