Tendency to change our perceptions opinions and behavior in ways that are consistent with groups norms. Norms: standards, rules of expected behavior set by a group or institution. Time 2- gave estimates in presence of others. Unmoving light - subjects said it moved 2-6 inches alone. Conformed to ~4 inches after being in groups.
