High status groups respond to threats to their status by trying to project their dominant. Understanding when and why people vote/engage in political action is an important. People who participate = more likely to have their needs catered to by politicians. We compare our groups" status to the status of other relevant groups. Latinos vote to about the same degree as whites. Asians vote far less than they should, 25% lower than whites.
