Assignment #6
1. What is Bond's question or problem that she seeks to answer?
She seeks to answer the question of why colored artwork from the past (mainly during the Greek
era) wasn't displayed and discussed and how this “white standard” came to be. She also analyzes
how this has continued to influence white supremacists today.
2. What is Bond's argument?
She argues that by not displaying the colored artwork from the past, creates this “false idea of
homogeneity” that white was the principal and dominant race. She explains that this in return
supported the idea of white supremacy.
3. What is Bond's methodology?
Bond read many different books and articles to research and build her argument. She also pulled
a tweet regarding images of classic sculpture as a symbol of white supremacy. She then analyzed
multiple quotes from those novels and articles to enhance her argument.
