Required reading: read the synopses of gethsemane, jesus" arrest, and the death of. Jesus (in folder on blackboard): assignment due: in less than one page, discuss 2-3 differences between the gospel accounts and how these reflect each author"s christology. After reading the synopses of gethsemane, jesus" arrest, and the death of jesus, there are many similarities between the four gospels on each topic. However there are also differences between each of the gospel accounts. One difference between the gospel accounts on jesus"arrest was that in mark, judas comes with a crowd and jesus is arrested and lead away, while a person standing by the side is cutting off his servant"s ear. However in luke"s gospel, jesus heals the servant"s ear by touching him. There are also differences between the gospel accounts upon the death of jesus. Matthew, mark, and luke almost seemingly seem to contradict each other in how the crucification is recorded.
