Incidental learning storing info and use it for later. Vicarious learning - learning through observation- children see the consequences experienced by others. All children are born with the capacity of language. Children navigate the laws of language without formal instruction. Argument that there is little exposure to correctly formed language children pick up on the mistakes. How children master langauge rules innately - universal grammar. The lad allows children to understand the rules of whatever language they are listening to. Child needs a solid foundation to master anything. Offers assistance so that the child can gain knowledge of skills independently. Thoughtless child learns words have symbolic functions ex ba ba - bottle or ball. When a child talks to himself / herself when alone apparent around age 7. Soundless- used throughout the rest of your life.
