Document Summary

Happiness is uniquely non-referential and is uniquely self-sufficient. Teaching that is trying to make us as perfect as possible. God like, virtuous, continent, incontinent, vicious and beast like. A virtuous person is a person who knows what"s right and well, so he/she sees correctly what a moral situation calls for and actually wants to do it. A continent person knows what she/needs to do but doesn"t want to do so they struggle but they do the right thing. The incontinent also knows what would be right to do but does not want to do it and loses that internal struggle. Vicious person doesn"t know the right thing. No one in this class is simply virtuous, continent, incontinent or vicious. When i struggle and fail, i feel bad. That"s guilt which is an unpleasant feeling, but it is good compares to a vicious guy. For aristotle, the most important one is virtuous. It is better not to struggle at all.
