Its a re ection on the practice of the christian faith within an oppressed community (liberation/praxis) His method is to follow barth, but to also include the other methods in his discussions: theology requires a continuing search for the fullness of truth . Any attempts to do so illustrates that we are not only limited as creatures of god but that we are sinful creatures who heed god"s reconciling grace to know him truly. Classical de nition: st. anselm: theology is faith seeking understanding , st. augustine: theology involves faith seeking understanding because he believed. Why does augustine refuse to reverse faith and understanding: because it would suggest that one could understand god by relying on oneself rather than on god, faith in god sets inquiry in motion.
