Document Summary
Review questions pg 26: public speaking is an important skill, not only for educational purposes but for professional and personal life. Being a good public speaker will help a career flourish, as you are able to present your ideas to others with ease and confidence. This may lead to promotions and raises sooner than colleagues who have no public speaking skills. During a conversation, we organize our thoughts logically. Speaking in an organized manner makes it much easier for our audience, whether it be one person or one hundred people, to understand the message we are trying to get across. We also tailor our message to our audience. Depending on the age, gender, or race of our audience, we would speak differently depending on these factors. Another skill is telling a story for maximum impact. We tell stories to build up our speech, keeping our audience interested the entire time and wondering what the ending will be.
