BIOL 100 Lecture Notes - Lecture 3: Bromine, Covalent Bond, Activation Energy
Document Summary
Biological life functions on chemical and physical processes which are used for 2 critical functions: energy gathering & reproduction. These two functions activate special nerve cells causing. Homosapiens have the ability to look both inward and outward in order to seek the definition of life. All life forms have two major functions: Without energy capture, reproduction cannot occur: energy capture & utilization/metabolism. All of which are coordinated by rna/dna. All living systems ultimately strip hydrogen ions and electrons from the food they ingest and use this energy to power they all chemical & physical processes. Enzymes strip hydrogen ions & electrons from the chemicals that make up our food. These ions & electrons indirectly produce atp. The addition of these 2 are called reduction. All life activities depend on these two processes. All living organisms use atp to build up & breakdown any ingested substance.
