In christianity everyone is reborn once when they become a disciple of christ, and they are reborn again when they die and go to either heaven or. Contrary to this, buddhist rebirth can go on for a seemingly infinite timespan. Samsara, or continuous birth and rebirth, can only be finished by achieving nirvana. This also leads into the more eastern way of thinking about time. Because of the buddhist concept of samsara, they see time as cyclical.
