Generalized anxiety disorder: 2% (often co-morbid with panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, specific phobia) Most common class of mental disorders present in the general population. Not due to the direct physiological effects of a medication, substance abuse, or a general medical condition (e. g. hyperthyroidism) and doesn"t occur exclusively during a mood/psychotic/pervasive developmental disorder.
