Scare tactics and drugs are bad approached fail to curb drug use by children at high risk. Children use drugs for many different reasons. Personality testing can identify 90% of the highest risk children, targeting risky traits before they cause problems. Middle-schoolers take a personality test to identify the outliers on the four risky traits; impulsiveness, hopelessness, anxiety sensitivity, sensation seeking. Workshops run by teachers trained in therapy techniques to prevent outlying personalities from becoming entrenched in risky behavior styles. Preventure cut overall drinking by 29% even among students who did not attend workshops perhaps by reducing peer pressure from high risk students. Among high risk kids who did attend, binge drinking fell by 43% Personality traits and addiction proneness in humans. Correlational studies- personality traits associated with drug addiction.
