Alcohol: legal but the most fatal thus far. There is more information on it than the other drugs partly because of its legality. Stimulants (cocaine, amphetamine): most intense psychological dependence. Amphe: if used o a daily basis with chronic exposure it can be very dangerous and addictive. On schedule one with heroin on the drugs that need to be stomped out. Does have medical value, but is still on the schedule one. *dopamine theory of addiction from the result of animal models: behavioral addiction: all the same principles of drug abuse. Should be doing something else, it is effecting your life, but you are still doing it anyway. *behavioral addictions share many of the characteristics of drug addiction but, the neurobiological entry points are largely unknown. A shot of dopa(cid:373)i(cid:374)e shoots up when you do it. Dopamine pathway is stimulated and your brain is now wired to figure out what is the thing that caused you pleasure, reward.
