Document Summary

Had his own school in south-midwest somewhere. He was disabled (early 1900"s - gave himself some inspections and such. Brilliant kid - believed that children in general, they have to depend on their parents - make them feel inferior (complex) and small - as they go through/grow up, they overcome this inferiority. First borns, middle borns and such they have different roles - he pretty much came up with this idea. Self-actualization? (from the bottom) physiological - you need food and stuff to survive in order to worry about other stages. Safety - if you have a secure house, belonging - nice group of people, self-esteem - gives you mastery experience; e. g. college. Self-actualization - now about to turn and do great things on others (helping others - oprah; she was abused and all, had a tough childhood but overcame and got to give it back to other people) Positive regard - you have to be authentic.
