Final exam (cumulative): may 9th 12-3pm: emphasis on final chapters, personality in the workplace, personality and relationships, personality and physical health. Multiculturalism: bilingual people different personality for each culture, test of big five given to monolingual (english-speaking) americans, monolingual (spanish-speaking) mexicans, bilingual americans, and bilingual. Mexicans (ramirez-esparza et al. , 2006: english higher on extraversion, agreeableness, and conscientiousness, spanish higher in neuroticism. Identifying as both - not feeling rejected by either or pressured to choose: meta-analysis relation between biculturalism and adjustment (nguyen & benet- Martinez, 2013: mean effect size = . 51, mixed results, the more integrated the people are, the more adjusted they are. Interpreted as a correlation: psychological adjustment - identity, self-esteem, sociocultural adjustment - behavioral problems, health. Interpersonal sensitivity - related to openness: most validated and scientifically based form of testing, uss the big five, people are more successful in the workplace if selected by personality, high reliability and acceptable validity.
