An individual"s unique, distinct, characteristic pattern of thinking, feeling, and acting. Trait perspective (trait theory: the big five personality factors are broad dimensions used to describe general tendencies or type of human personality, the traits: Neuroticism- sensitive/nervous vs secure/confident: ^ocean (is the acronym) or canoe. Personality may be defined by extraversion-introversion and neuroticism. Personality inventories- questions designed a wide range of feeling, behaviors and traits all at once. Introversion- a dimension that focuses on our inner experiences our own personal thoughts and feelings people. Are not necessarily hermits and live you know under a rock. Are just last outgoing and less sociable. Extraversion- this dimension involves turning one"s attention outward, toward others. Have a very high need for hanging out with other people for being gregarious. Individualism vs. collectivism focus on the individual vs. focus on the group. Difference in personality vs on their own vs. in group. Emphasize the role of person vs. situation.
