The religion i chose to investigate was sikhism. Sikhism is that it"s the youngest religion to be created. The second thing i learned was that sikhism is the 5th largest organized religion in the world. I learned was that the religion originated from a man named nanak. He was the main guru of the 10 gurus that influenced sikhism and its practices and beliefs. The fourth thing i learned about sikhism is that they have the idea of wearing 5 articles of faith, which are: the kara, the kanga, the kach, the kirpan, and the kesh. A reason i would raise awareness about sikhism is because they"ve been victims of many workplace discrimination incidents. There was an incident where a sikh woman was fired, because she wasn"t allowed to carry her kirpan with her. Knowing what i know now, i would definitely raise awareness about the 5 articles of faith and the kirpan"s significance.
