Symphony orchestra existed as a prototype before haydn and originated from the baroque chamber orchestra. Haydn was one of the first people to make music for the symphony orchestra. Was consistent in the number of movements he included in his symphonies and the forms he used for each of the movements. The most important form was the sonata. Haydn composed some pieces, but it was mainly to make profit. Mozart is usually regarded as the first composer for the sonata. Existed during vivaldi"s time, but became popular during mozart"s time. By mozart"s time, the most popular instrument was the piano. He used the concerto as a business tool to get ahead of his competition. Solo concerto retains majority of the types of movement as the previous genres. Soloist is responsible for a significant amount of thematic material, unlike in the sonata.
