Therefore, it is important to know what fragments are constituents in order to complete tree structures. If yes, the string of words is a constituent. Ex: the ugly troll demanded a gold coin under the bridge. The ugly troll and his friend demanded a gold coin under the bridge. Here you can see the ugly troll is a constituent. The ugly troll demanded a gold coin and a silver dollar under the bridge. Here you can see a gold coin is a constituent. You need to apply more than one test to be sure that the phrase in question is really a constituent.
