Cities are advertised to be the new way of life and the way forward for the future. However, cities are becoming less and less family friendly. San francisco only has about 13% of its population as kids, while the kids taken up 25% of the total us population. Lack of open green spaces, public parks, not family friendly , public schools are not as good, lack of safety, expensive, lack of living space. Built form perspective -e. g. the planning and construction of the city. Cities are lacking proper open spaces, too dense, and not enough housing space. Cities are seen as infrastructural spaces and in terms of architecture and design. These people took chicago as a model of the urban city and conducted experiments. Claimed that physical environmental factors shape human behavior as much as personal and community characteristics. Understood urban life to be structured by the built form of cities.
