Free trade policies require competition among economies that can"t compete (a lot of the time countries trying to help these places are actually imposing economic colonialism) As a concept (what society should aim to achieve) As a practice (interventions for decolonized states of the global south in order to become developed) Malnourished- (doesn"t necessarily mean that they don"t have enough food) may have enough food but not enough of the right kind (nutrient-rich food) The food that malnourished people have access to is typically corn, wheat, and rice. Each year 500,000 kids in africa go blind from a vitamin a deficiency. Half die and many experience a weakened immune system. Malnutrition is thought of as an epidemic as a result of africa being an undeveloped region. Communities are seen as not having the means to resolve it themselves.
