Candy or treats as a result of high school. Coffee house at the end of a long assignment or project. High grades on an exam or report card. Homework pass as a result of doing hw consistently. Secondary are better bc they are more realistic to life, stronger. Premack principle: students engage in a disliked activity in order to do something they enjoy later. Consequence that decreases the frequency of the response it follows. Presentation: presenting a stimulus that a learner does not want. Removal: taking away an existing stimulus that a learner desires. Students off task---> removal of peer learning time. Encouraging productive behaviors is more helpful than attending to inappropriate classroom behaviors via punishment. Point out the positives, not the punishments.
