Anatomy of the human ear - external, middle, inner ears. Pinna - composed of the helix and the lobe, helix is the rim of the ear and lobe is the ear lobe, flesh of the ear. External auditory canal - external acoustic meatus, leads from the pinna to the eardrum, we have wax glands and ceruminous glands which secrete cerumen, where all the earwax. Tympanic membrane - made up of connective tissue, also known as ear drum. Tympanic antrum - a chamber or space in the middle ear. Eustachian tube - also called the auditory tube, goes from middle ear to nose and throat. Auditory ossicles - six little bones found in the ears - malleus (hammer), incus (anvil), stapes (stirrup), the stirrup fits in an opening between the middle and inner ear known as the oval window. Bony labyrinth - perilymph, a fluid within the labyrinth.
